If so, come join us and introduce yerself on facebook.com/groups/IrishinSaltLake. Don’t be shy! There are more Irish in the Utah area than you would think. Plenty who have distant ancestry, plenty who’s parents or grand parents were born in Ireland and of course several like myself that were born and raised on the Emerald Isle.
It can be very helpful to connect with others like yourself especially when you are new to an area and know nobody. Our Irish in Salt Lake Facebook group are trying to put together a once a month get together, maybe with a bit of a session too to raise spirits and sink a few pints. We also greatly support the local Hibernian society that has been around MUCH longer than our Facebook group :). For those of you looking for the Scottish network we have that too here in Salt Lake, nice people!
